Navigating Migratory Grief: From Adventure, to Storm, to Landing in a Safe Port.

Learn about how migration touches you, and how you can bloom and feel empowered to transit this process in a more patient, constructive and compassionate way.

In this 4-hour long hands on immersive workshop, you will:

*Learn and reflect about your unique inner workings through art therapy activities, in company of mental health professionals.

*Share and learn from the community (only If you want to) and get support from the co-construction of the group member’s input and experience, in the safety of confidentiality.

*Shed light on thoughts, emotions and strengths you may be unaware of, owning them, and choosing your unique path, from your freedom, by developing a self-aware, reflective mind to accompany you through migration and beyond this workshop.

Multicultural Families and Couples: Co-creating a Third Space.

Learn about how to navigate the challenges and opportunities into creating a blooming, transcultural home.

In this 4-hour long hands on immersive workshop, you will:

*Learn and reflect about you and your partner’s/family members shared and individual meaning making and inner workings through art therapy activities, in company of mental health professionals.

*Share and learn from the community (only If you want to) and get support from the co-construction of the group member’s input and experience, in the safety of confidentiality.

*Shed light on thoughts, emotions and strengths you and your family may be unaware of, owning them, illuminating your common values, while making space to understand compassionately, each member’s individuality, culture and unique pace for adaptation.

*Develop a self-aware, culturally sensitive and reflective mind to understand differences and accompany your family through migration and beyond this workshop.

*Gain awareness and understanding of the natural and expected impact of separations and reunifications, and its intersection with developmental stages, while the migration project is unfolding.

* Re-signify the concept of family, borders, culture, and nation.

*Understand the power dynamic and role changes inherent to some migration projects and its impact on families and/or couples, and discover ways to negotiate them in ways that work for you and your family.

Raising Third Culture Kids: Culture is Care.

Learn about the challenges, opportunities and protective factors of raising kids that can navigate through cultures and also belong, providing them with a safe, nurturing ground in which they can bloom.

In this 4-hour long hands on immersive workshop you will:

*Learn and reflect together with your kid(s), your shared and individual meaning making and values through art therapy activities, in company of mental health professionals.

*Share and learn from the community (only If you want to) and get support from the co-construction of the group member’s input and experience, in the safety of confidentiality.

*Learn, explore, reflect on and discover ideas about identity, borders, belonging, culture and grounding factors.

*Learn, explore, reflect on and discover ideas about the intersection of developmental stages of the mind, with a particular emphasis on identity, adolescence and migration, including the impact of separations and reunifications.

*Co-create a safe space for the exploration and development of your kids identity from a sense of belonging and safety.




Facilitators

We are Laura Lupi, licensed in Clinical Psychology and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Based in Madrid, Spain and online globaly; and Elisabeth Borracci, licensed Art Therapist with a Psychodynamic and Relational approach, based in Bari, Italy and online worldwide.

Elisabeth Borracci

Licensed Art Therapist

Licensed Art therapist with a psychodynamic and relational approach. Member of the European Federation of Art Therapists, and a linguistic and cultural mediator since 2014. She spent many years traveling around the world and is fluent in Italian, English, Spanish, French, and some Arabic. Elisabeth holds a degree in Oriental Languages and Civilizations from the University of Rome and a specialisation in Mediation from the University of Montpellier. After living in the Middle East and working with migrant population, she identified the need for emotional support in migration contexts. Passionate about art, she completed a four-year Art-Psychotherapy training in Barcelona. She specializes in women’s issues, maternity, postpartum depression, perinatal bereavement, abortion, gender-based violence, migration, and unaccompanied minors. Elisabeth collaborates with organizations across Europe and maintains a private practice in Bari, Italy, and online. She is also researching Art Therapy in International Relations and working on a master’s thesis on migration policies and migratory grief.

Laura Lupi

Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Psychodynamic Psychotherapist

Venezuelan Bilingual Clinical Psychologist and Psychodynamic Psychotherapist with 14 years of clinical experience. I have worked with at-risk populations in Venezuelan public hospitals as well as in an eating disorders inpatient unit in London, UK; where I took courses on Psychoanalysis at the Tavistock Clinic. Since my arrival to Madrid, I have trained in Systemic Transcultural Psychotherapy, and psychoanalysis and have been working with immigrant and forcibly displaced population at my private practice; combining it with training and supervising volunteers and colleagues at the NGO Madrid For Refugees, Erasmus+ training programs. I have been an instructor for the 2024 spring semester at CIEE, Madrid, College Courses, teaching «Positive Psychology» and «Childhood development, Schools and Families» and last summer at ISSOS International Summer School in St Andrews University in Scotland, UK, teaching Youth Leadership in an International Summer School for teens. Workshop topics have included: trauma, migratory grief, resilience, post traumatic growth, vicarious trauma, leadership, and psychological first aid. By using arts-based methods, my workshops are tailored to participants, making every group’s process unique. My experience and interests grounds my practice in science while remaining open to the possibilities of subjectivity, imagination and creativity.
